Kyrgyzstan and Partner States Advance Mountain Agenda at UNFCCC COP

In December 2023, Kyrgyzstan, along with Andorra, initiated the formation of the Mountain Partnership negotiating group, which represents the interests of mountain territories within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

On June 18, 2025, at the Bonn Conference on Climate Change (SBSTA62), a decision was reached to rename the Mountain Partnership group to the Mountain Group.

Currently, the Mountain Group includes 11 countries: Kyrgyzstan, Andorra, Armenia, Albania, Burkina Faso, Kazakhstan, Mali, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
